Outline:

This is a basic three chord pattern, but you are working with an established underlying “lick.”  It may be fun to experiment playing freely over the whole pattern, or sometimes playing opposite the lick, like an answer.  The verses and choruses alternate, and after the sixth chorus the band does an unmistakable syncopated “walk-up” back to the E to repeat the last line with an old standard ending figure.
