Marvin says, "These shots of our band, Java Monkey, were taken on our last tour of Europe with Francine Reed, which included some dates at some amazing ski resorts high in the Swiss Alps.  I'm posting the pictures because, as you can see, these are not your typical afternoon load-ins!"

"It was interesting to find out how many ardent fans of American Blues Music there are, even
in such seemingly remote areas.  Many times people would discuss particular works by particular
artists, and they would know more than we did about who played on what songs.  They certainly knew Francine Reed's work and could tell me which of my solos were their favorites."

Michael and Sean high in the Alps

This was not the highest peak in the Alps, but we could look straight across
and see it from here!

"One of the coolest perks of a trip like this was free lift tickets and day passes for skiing.  But skiing in the Alps is not for the faint of heart!"

"This is looking down on one of the middle ski areas, which is NOT for beginners.  The one above where we were standing to take this picture was suicidal!   We rode the cable car up, we rode down, we went to the bar!  Lovely day."

Marvin says, "We recently played another charity event for McDowell Cancer Foundation out in Kentucky."

Marvin with Paul Barerre after rehearsal

Paul Barerre of Little Feat and Marvin Taylor

"Most of these shows predominantly feature Country Music stars, but this show was more of a Variety Show, featuring the guys from Little Feat, Davy Jones of The Monkees, writer extraordinaire Paul Williams, Shannon Brown,  hit-writer Jim Collins, and my guitar buddy Steve Cropper."

"Steve McRay of Java Monkey was the keyboard player on this gig, and this was a huge treat for Steve and me.  If you have seen my bio page you know that Steve and I were in a band called Mose Jones in the seventies.  We did lots of gigs with Little Feat back in those days, and Java Monkey (three members of the old Mose Jones band are in Java Monkey) plays arrangements of several Little Feat songs even now.   But what a hoot for Steve and me to get to play Dixie Chicken,   Down On The Farm and Willin' with the real guys!  It seldom gets better'n that!"
