A BMI Publishing Affiliate

When Marvin and Raven first became a couple, before they were even married, they became partners in a publishing company. Marvin had a recording studio and production company in Decatur, Georgia.  After watching him spend weeks at a time working on other people's CDs, and seeing them leave with great products to sell and use to help launch their careers, while Marvin had only the one check to cash, Raven insisted that he begin budgeting time for his original material, and helped him form Five Feathers Music,  named in honor of their Native American roots.

Marvin and Raven began to collaborate on ideas for songs, and eventually began actually writing together.  One of the first songs they actually sat down to write together was "Been There, Done That", which was recorded by Miss Francine Reed on her second Ichiban/Capitol album entitled "I Can't Make It On My Own."  "Been There, Done That" was nominated for the prestigious W.C.Handy International Blues Society's Song of the Year Award, the Blues equivalent to a Grammy.

In addition to a catalog of Blues, Pop, Rock, and Jazz titles, all written by Marvin and/or Raven Taylor, the "menu" has expanded over the past few years to include works written by other talented songwriters and artists.   But one of the "specialties of the house" is that songs are also written "on demand"!  Marvin and Raven have teamed up with several "specialists" so that they can quickly suit your songwriting needs.   As they put it "Just let us know what you need and if we don't already have it, we will write it!  Single oriented songs, album cuts, jingles and commercials, we do it all. E-mail us and let us know how we can be of service!"
