"BAND IN THE POCKET!" We want to put you in the
spotlight!
Click here to see the entries of Here's the deal: We get a lot of hits on this site every day and get a lot of traffic on this page. We think it is a great place to showcase your playing and check out what others are doing. We are very happy to also post as much or as little about you as you like. If you are interested in hooking up with other players, we will help in any way we can. In addition, when we used this forum as a "contest" we recruited some distinguished players and producers as judges. They have agreed to continue as panelists to check in and listen and comment from time to time on what they see here. Like me, they love seeing what others are doing. We'd like to hear from you! Please contact us with any suggestions and feedback you may want to contribute! SEND IN YOUR JAMS! No matter what level player you are, from beginner to professional, no matter what instrument you play, be it guitar, keyboards, harmonica, saxophone, flute, kazoo, comb and tissue paper, you name it, you are invited! We want you to pick your favorite track on your favorite "Band In The Pocket!" CD, work out your best licks, and record it. It doesn't have to be done in a studio, but it does need to be decent quality. (If it sounds good to you, it will probably work. If it sounds like air coming out of a tire set to music, it probably won't work!) If you have a cassette recorder that makes good recordings, that should do it. If you have any nifty recording software and can make a CD, that's even better! However you can work it out, send us the best copy that you can manage. We will publish your tracks here and you can let all your friends come listen to it. If you like, we'll publish your photo and tell a bit about you. Others are also always interested in what your equipment consists of and what kind of guitars or other instruments you play. We also hope to link with some other showcase sights. Meanwhile, our distinguished panel will continue to check in from time to time and listen to what everyone is doing. But get us your tapes, MP-3s, CDs, Windows Media files, Real Audio...whatever you can get together. SPECIAL NOTICE TO HARMONICA AND BLUES HARP

Bryan Cole Drummer Bryan Cole did his first recording session at the age of 15. He was an original member of southern rock band Mose Jones, which recorded two albums produced by Al Kooper for MCA Records in the 1970s. In the early 1980s, he toured extensively as the drummer for legendary fiddler Vassar Clements, then settled in to work as a staff writer and studio drummer for Tree Publishing in Nashville. Returning to Atlanta in the late '80s, Cole served a 12-year stint at Ichiban Records as staff producer, as well as director of music publishing and licensing. A founding member of CMO Studios in Atlanta, Bryan has now taken a much more personal direction as an independent producer. His discography is so tremendous that we can't begin to print it. Bryan and Marvin and other talented musicians and songwriters are now working together in The Wednesday Music Group, a songwriter's co-op! Anthony Papamichael New York's loss is Atlanta's gain! Anthony is one of the privileged few to have studied with jazz immortal Joe Pass. He is the former co-owner and chief engineer of Libra Digital Recording in NYC, and was one of the first to master the famous Synclavier technology. An amazingly prolific and accomplished writer/composer/producer, Anthony is also a world class guitarist, blending mind numbing speed with heartfelt simplicity. He is simply one of the very best! Click HERE to listen to "Damn Yankee" from Anthony's CD "Defend The Orphan". Marvin says, "Fasten your seatbelt if you've never heard Anthony play! I'm never sure if he inspires me to practice harder or quit and go into sales! Of all the cuts on all his CDs, I honestly think this is still my favorite." (Note: the drummer on this cut, Sean O'Rourke, plays in "The Monday Night Band" with Marvin.)
Tulsa Read is the director of the Kansas City Metro Harmonica Society; National Blues Harmonica Champion; National Country Harmonica Champion; Kansas State Bluegrass Harmonica Champion; and award winning professional harmonica instructor.
