What People are saying about "Band In The Pocket" Products and Chord Alchemy!

Marvin.. These cds are the greatest thing since sliced bread!  I've check out a few over the years and yours are by far the best. I like the simplicity of the little book. Somehow, and I'm not sure how,but your personality comes out over the tracks. That's a good thing ..very cool.
I'm finally getting those scales down!!
Thanks again and keep it up!
Steve Carr, Independence,Mo.

I just bought four of your CDs at Winter Park, Florida Guitar Center.  Band In The Pocket #1,#2,#5 and #6 have made me want to play and improvise like no other guitar lesson I've ever bought.  I've been playing/learning off and on for 15 years and this is the absolute  best teaching tool which just happens to be loads of of fun.  I feel like I'm gigging every night!!!  I wish I knew of them years ago!!!!
Art Robert, Deltona, Florida

"I recently purchased two of your CD's at Guitar Center... absolutely the best thirty bucks I've spent in a long time!   As I'm not in a band but I still love to play, these are great!   I play 'em out of a Bose system from my laptop in my basement -- the house shakes!   Love 'em.  Can't wait for the next CD's!"
Bill, New Jersey

"Chord Alchemy arrived today.  Anyone with a computer, a fretted instrument and a desire to be a better musician needs this program!  The reverse look-up and custom tuning fratures are unlike anything I have seen before.  Well done!"
Ron Pirtle, Great Bend, KS

“'In the pocket' is an understatement about the groove and tightness of these songs - these CD's are great!   I bought the first Blues disc about a month ago and this past weekend ran back over to Guitar Center and bought three more discs.   Playing with these tracks is a blast - as much fun as a musician can have legally.   Keep up the great work.”
Mark Slocombe - Video Editor and Producer, St. Louis Missouri

“An excellent way to jam with a great band!  We give it a Pick Of The Month!”
Guitar Magazine, June 1999 issue.

"'Band In The Pocket!'  is a great way to practice with a band when you don’t have the rehearsal space, time, or budget to hire one."
New Products review, www.gottheblues.com

"I can’t imagine a finer Christmas gift for musicians!"
Joanie Kelton, Texas Blues Magazine, November 2001 issue

"Why are we reviewing a CD of play along tracks as gear?  Anything that helps your playing as much as this has helped mine definitely qualifies a gear!"
John Atchley’s Gear Review, www.guitarnuts.com

When I saw your disks at Guitar Center in Fort Myers I bought both the Blues discs, as I would like to be able to play the blues at least well.   I have been teaching my son to play for about 1 1/2 years and he was getting bored, feeling as though he was getting nowhere. Last weekend I showed him the disks and we played them together and jammed … he realized he already knew how to play guitar he just never had the right tools to make it sound well!  Now he has the spark of inspiration I was trying to give him all along to get him start practicing more…now he is practicing by himself and it's finally starting to pay off.  I wish I had bought the disks several months sooner!  We are big Jonny Lang fans and would like to suggest some for future disks? Please, Please, Please,  keep up the great work and make some more blues disks. I hope this letter inspires you as your disks have us…sorry for being long winded but I truly feel you needed to know just how much your disks helped us!
Douglas Grey, Realty Specialist, Blues Guitarist, Proud Dad,  Cape Coral, Florida

"Marvin.... I've spent a couple of weeks with your "Band in the Pocket CD, and It's GREAT! I've purchased some practice tracks before, and was usually disappointed, but yours is inspiring. Thanks for thinking of us other pickers out here."
Tony Mellichampe, Guitar Player, Edgewater, MD

"Band in the Pocket is just what I’ve been looking for. It’s the perfect tool for teaching improvisation."
Dan McHenney, Saxophone Instructor, Stockbridge, GA

"Band in the Pocket is very cool. I can actually jam with my students, and it really is like playing with the perfect rhythm section."
Jody Worrell, Studio Guitarist and Advanced Guitar Instructor, Atlanta, GA

"Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!  I have been "playing around" on the guitar for over thirty years.   Mostly self-taught.  I have the opportunity to get together with friends occasionally to "jam", but not often.  I came across your "Band In The Pocket" series at Guitar Center about a year ago and I am absolutely in love with my CD's!  I have progressed so much in such a short time... more than I have in the 30 plus years I've been playing.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!   I see that your "Jazz" CD is available!  I am anxious to get a copy in order to stretch my ability on the guitar.  Mind you, I am not even in the same league as you and your other musicians, but when I am in my basement, with the headphones on and Band The Pocket in the CD player, I am a "guitar god".     I have searched the internet for other "jam tracks", but none seem to be as great as yours.  Please keep giving us "old farts" a reason to keep "JAMMIN".

"Band in the Pocket is just fabulous. All my friends that play music ordered one when they heard mine. We can’t wait for the next one to be released!"
Chris Harvey, Research Scientist, College Professor, Blues Harp Player, Melbourne, FL

"Finally, someone remembered us keyboard players! I love jamming with Band in the Pocket!"
John Scriven, Multi-Media Producer, Amateur Blues Piano Player, London, England

"Man, I love it, and my customers love it. Band in the Pocket is a real moneymaker, and it’s a blast to jam with."
Wallace Reed, Guitarist and Music Store Owner, Atlanta, GA

"As a beginning bass player, I found that I lacked confidence to play something more than what was on the teaching video/CD I had purchased.  I had seen 'Band In The Pocket' for guitar and thought about how cool it would be to have one for the bass.  I was in my local Guitar Center the other day and saw the product I was looking for.  "Band In The Pocket for Bass." I have played with every song on the CD between five and ten times.  Each time I experiment with a variant style / run, etc.  It is far superior to those one minute practice tracks I had with the teaching video.  My confidence is gaining and it is a joy to play with these tracks.   Marvin - keep up the good work.  I look forward to picking up future releases for the bass.”
Mark Wyss - Amateur Bass Player, Denver, Colorado

"Thanks for creating 'Band In The Pocket!'. The CD is a blast. Send me the new one as soon as it is ready."
Phil Balisciano, Barber, Bluesman, Saranac Lake, NY

"Marvin, I've got to tell you, the 'Band In The Pocket' CDs are one of the greatest things I have ever run across. When there's no one to jam with or when you’re trying to explain how a band works or teaching someone what the timing "feels" like, these things are the greatest.  I've sat up all night with the head phones on playing my heart out.  I've got them all except the country stuff ( which I really ought to buy ) and I'm looking forward to the new stuff coming out.  It's amazing how different people interpret riffs against the CD's.  I tend to get stuck in the same old groove.  That's why I wanted your tab. It's hard to grow if you don't play it a different way. Thanks for all the good times. Feel free to use any thing here as an endorsement, testimonial, whatever. More people need your music.  I turned a couple guys on to the Bass CD. I've never listened to it but I knew it was what they needed to learn. Now they sing your praises as well!  They can't get enough (that's another one I need to buy).”
Dexter Blakeley  Church Hill, TN

"My name is Krzys (Chris) and I live in New Jersey. I've bought Band in the Pocket CD, hoping that it will help me to jam a little bit with a sound of a real band. I was astonished how inviting this music is for filling it in, with my music imagination. I grew up in Silesia, Poland, where blues music is very popular and lyrics very often reflect hard work of people, working in coal mines and steel factories. I found this CD so exiting the moment I heard it, that I've created my own melody lines and lyrics to it. Thank you for making such an inspirational, for me, CD.  I think I will play a lot of my own blues music after I'll practice with your Band in the Pocket."
God, Peace and Music
Krzysztof from Silesia.

"I recently had the opportunity to use the 'BETA Version' of 'Band in the Pocket for Drummers' that you sent me...and I mean USE!  Thank you so much for this fabulous gift!  What fun!  I must have jammed for an hour.  Not only did I work on my timing, but the CD allowed the creative drum juices to flow.  I played so many different patterns and grooves for the same songs.  It was just flat out fun...one time, I put the head-set on and worked on only drum fills.  The cow bell "click track" on the songs made sure all the fills flowed together in a cool musical way... congrats!  When does the next CD come out?!"
John J. Leshney, Drummer, and Director of Development of the Markey Cancer Foundation, Lexington

The BAND IN THE POCKET FOR DRUMMERS CD is by far my favorite of the play along CDs that I own.   For starters the songs are longer which lets you jam longer!   The mix is great, plus there just seems to be an energy coming from the players....which may be why I like this one the best.   I'm an electrical contractor and business owner, and between family and work I don't have much time.  When I was a kid (ages17-24) I was in a cover /original hard rock band....had a blast, wouldn't change it for the world, but it never went anywhere.  A few years back my wife bought me a drum set for Christmas.  It was something I wanted to get back into and life hasn't been the same since!   For me playing drums is a total blast and a great stress release.  One problem though - I have young children that go to bed early.   I bought a used set of Roland V Drums a little over a year ago and I can play anytime I want, but they're not quite the same as their acoustic counterpart.  Life is a series of trade offs ....when I know I'll have the house to myself for the day, I set up my Pearl kit and use my Zildjians and play until my arms fall off!  It's sort of funny...I'm forty one and play drums simply for the love of it, and when I get behind the kit I feel like a kid again - and using your BAND IN THE POCKET FOR DRUMMERS CD may be the missing link to the fountain of youth!
Mike Basil, Crystal Lake, IL

Marvin, I had to email you to compliment you on the Band in the Pocket CD.  I've been playing since I was 18 and I just turned 50.  After a long hiatus from music due to family and other commitments I'm getting back into it.  I got a Squier Strat Pack for Christmas and I've been removing the rust from my chops, and believe me, I had more rust than a '72 Buick!!   About two weeks ago I picked up the first Band in the Pocket CD at my local Guitar Center and let me tell you, it's a great "rust remover"!   Industrial strength!!   I've been slowly regaining my chops by practicing to your CD every day.   I'm hoping to join a band sometime this summer so I'll be buying your other CDs soon.

An interesting thing, though. I work as a Medical Instrument Repair Technician, and people at work listen to CDs all day while working.  I've been listening to Band in the Pocket at work and I find it to be a very relaxing, pleasurable experience. Makes it a little hard to work, though, I have trouble sitting still!!

All in all an outstanding learning tool and I would highly recommend it to anyone who plays an instrument (not just guitar). I look forward to picking up more Band in the Pocket CDs as soon as I can.  Marvin, keep cranking them out!!  I love them!!
Bob Letourneaux, Spencer, Massachusetts

Been using these disks for a while now.  They comprise about 80% of my practice routine.  They allow me to try out a new lick over and over until it fits within the context of a song.  I even practice scales to them when I can't bear to listen to my metronome for another second.  They've really made a difference in my progression as a player.  Thanks for a great product... keep 'em coming!
Ray Gianelli, Electronic Tech and Guitarist, Lake Worth, FL

Just thought I would take a moment to thank you for a wonderful product.  I just purchased "BAND IN THE POCKET FOR DRUMS" and I must say it is perfect!  I have purchased tons of similar products for drummers and either it is some out of tune garage band doing Top 40 or it only contains bass lines to play to.  I have been in tons of bands in the past as a bass player but also play keyboards and drums.  I mostly just record at home now.  Your product is the perfect mix of instruments for a drummer to actually have fun while learning.  Thanks again!  Please let me know if you come out with another   "BAND IN THE POCKET FOR DRUMS!"
Robert Bennett, Schwenksville, PA

This has been one of the most gratifying projects of my entire career. We get phone calls, letters, faxes and e-mails every single month, expressing genuine joy from using our product!  It thrills me to know that thousands of us are jamming together all the time! ”
